This article serves as a comprehensive guide to managing your onboarding sequence, with a specific focus on the "Flow" screen. Here, you'll learn how to add, customize, and organize the screens of your onboarding, covering functionalities like adding, deleting screens, cloning, changing the first screen, applying text and images, and more.

Understanding the Onboarding Flow Screen:

The "Flow" panel is your workspace for crafting the onboarding sequence, adding screens, establishing connections, and defining navigation.

Once you complete the initial setup, the workflow panel will automatically open, or you can access it by clicking on an onboarding entry in the main project dashboard.

Adding the First Screen:

Every onboarding begins with a first screen. Add this by dragging and dropping screens from the right panel onto the main panel.

Alternatively, use the "ADD FIRST SCREEN" button for an automated setup.

Note: You have the flexibility to modify your First screen (details provided below).

Adding Subsequent Screens:

Continue building your sequence by dragging and dropping additional screens into the flow.

Actions with Screen Added on the Flow:

Each screen comprises inputs, outputs, and a top panel.

Inputs: Establish connections and transitions. The initial screen has an input arrow labeled "First screen."

Subsequent screens have input arrows on the left.

Outputs: link to successive screens and vary depending on screen elements like headers, footers, tables, sliders, and custom screen callbacks.

Header outputs

The output for the Skip button. The corresponding output will be omitted if you eliminate the Skip button from your design.

Footer outputs

The outputs are shown for every button in the Footer, with the number of outputs varying based on the number of buttons present in the footer.

Table single selection and 2-column single selection items

Outputs for either a single-column or two-column selection. The number of displayed outputs corresponds to the total number of items

The top panel

Offers options to clone, delete, edit, or set a screen as the first. To get access to the top panel just click on the screen.

ScreenID - The automatically generated identifier for the current screen in the sequence is editable at any time on the Edit screen.

Clone - allows the duplication of the current screen. Simply select the option, and a new cloned version will be generated.

The system duplicates all content within the screen, including images, text, and settings.

However, connections and the First screen mark are not duplicated, meaning the new cloned version will be created without the created connections of the parent.

Delete - allows you to remove the screen.

Upon selecting the delete button, a confirmation pop-up will appear. If you click on cancel, the confirmation pop-up will close, and the screen will remain unaffected. However, if you click on delete, the screen will be permanently removed.

Once a screen is deleted, it cannot be restored.

📣If the first screen is deleted, ensure to designate another screen as the first to prevent disruption to your onboarding process.

Additionally, all connections from the input and output of the deleted screen will be eliminated.

More Settings - Provides additional options, differing between the first screen and other screens.

The "More Settings" options for the First screen and not for the first screen

Settings for the first screen:

Settings for not first screens:

More settings - "Apply content"

It enables the incorporation of content such as text and image URLs onto the screen. Upon selecting this option, the subsequent form will appear, allowing you to adhere to screen guidelines while adding information. Click 'apply,' and all entered content will be integrated into your screen.

  • More settings - 'Set the first screen'

This option applies to any screen, excluding those already designated as the 'First screen.'

Upon clicking 'Set the first screen,' a confirmation pop-up will be displayed. If you click on Cancel, the confirmation pop-up will close, and the screen will remain as not first. However, if you click on OK, the screen will be set as 'First screen'.

📣Only one screen can be assigned as the first screen.

After configuring a screen as the first one, all connections leading to 'Input' will be automatically removed. If the screen was part of a sequence with rules, the rules following that screen will be cleared.

More settings - 'Enable/Disable apply theme'

The "Enable/Disable apply theme" feature in your onboarding platform offers a significant level of control over how theme changes are applied to individual screens. Here’s a detailed explanation of how this feature works:

By default, this option is set to "Enable", meaning that any changes made to the theme and applied to onboarding only will be automatically applied to all screens within the onboarding sequence.

If you choose to "Disable apply theme" for a specific screen, that screen will be exempt from any new design changes applied to the overall onboarding theme.

For instance, if you click on the screen’s right top panel, find and select the "More Settings" option, modify the theme settings, like altering the background color, and choose to "Apply to onboarding", the changes will update all screens except those where "apply theme" has been disabled.

This guide aims to enhance your capability in orchestrating an engaging and well-structured onboarding experience.
