The I-9 Forms table is where you’ll find all your workers who have an I-9 task assigned. Here you’ll see I-9 form completion status and where your action may be required. To access the I-9 Forms table, click I-9 Center in the left side panel. You will land in the I-9 Forms table by default.

Status Tabs
At the top of the table, there are eight status tabs to quickly find I-9 forms in different stages of the I-9 completion and E-Verify process.
All: All I-9 forms, regardless of status.
Section 1: The worker has been assigned an I-9 form to complete, but has not completed Section 1 yet.
Section 2: This tab will have three types of workers:
The worker has completed Section 1, but Section 2 needs to be completed by the employer or an Authorized Representative.
The Pending Filter By Status button will be selected by default when clicking this tab, as this tab is used most often to find and complete Section 2 for workers as the employer.
Depending on which verification methods your company has enabled, you will also see employees who have an upcoming On-Site or Live Video verification meeting scheduled.
OR Section 2 has been completed, but the company is not using E-Verify. Therefore, workers will not move into the Awaiting Information, Pending E-Verify, E-Verify, or Completed tabs.
OR the worker has not been sent to E-Verify for some reason, if the company is using E-Verify.
You may need to troubleshoot with these workers why they are not moving into E-Verify automatically.
Awaiting Information: Sections 1 and 2 are completed, but there is missing information on the form. Therefore, the E-Verify submission cannot happen yet. This happens in two scenarios:
If the worker provides an acceptable document receipt instead of a document when completing Section 1. An E-Verify case cannot be created with a document receipt.
The worker will remain in this status until they provide the actual document related to the receipt. At that point, an E-Verify case will be created.
If the worker is awaiting their SSN because they are new to the country. An E-Verify case cannot be created with a missing SSN.
The worker will remain in this status until an SSN is entered in their Worker Profile. At that point, an E-Verify case will be created.
Pending E-Verify: The worker’s I-9 form is pending submission to E-Verify or has been submitted to E-Verify but has not been reviewed by E-Verify yet. No action is needed.
E-Verify: The worker’s completed I-9 form has been successfully sent to E-Verify, and a case status has been received that is not "completed/closed authorized".
Expiring: Workers with Section 1 documents that are expiring or have already expired, requiring follow-up for continued work authorization. Includes filters for expiring in 30 days, expiring in 90 days, or having already expired. Additionally, a worker can be manually added to this group if the individual is in the process of submitting an Authorized Extension Document.
Completed: The worker’s E-Verify case status is Closed Authorized, and they are verified to legally work in the U.S. No action is needed.
Tip!
To search for a worker, use the search at the top. You can search by name, Worker ID, or email. If a tab is selected, you will only search through that tab. To search all workers who have an I-9 task assigned, ensure no tab is selected or select the "All" tab. Click on the selected tab to deselect it.
Quick Filters
When you select any of the eight status tabs, you will see additional quick filters based on the tab selected.
For example, if you have selected the Section 2 tab, you can click the Due Soon or Overdue Filter by Priority buttons to quickly find I-9 forms that need action now.
If you have the E-Verify tab selected, you will see Filter By Status options for case statuses that require action, like Unconfirmed Data or TNC.
You will have two quick filter options for most tabs: Filter By Priority and Filter By Status. However, some tabs will only have one of the two filter options.
Changing Column Data
Above the status tabs is the Columns button, which allows you to select which columns of data will be visible on the I-9 Forms table. To remove or add data columns, simply check or uncheck the boxes in the Columns pop-up.
Important Note:
The First Name, Last Name, and Status columns cannot be removed.
Columns can be added or removed related to the I-9 form, worker details found in the Worker’s Profile, such as Address or Location, or even custom worker attributes that are specific to your company’s account.
Click Apply to add the columns to your table. Click Reset to reset the columns to the default selections. Any customizations will apply only to your account.
Custom Filtering
Next to Customize Columns, you will see the Filters button, which allows you to hone in on specific workers even more so than the status tabs or quick filters in each status tab.
To create a custom filter, select values from all three dropdowns. The options will change based on the initial dropdown selection. When finished, click Apply.
For example, if you select Start Date for the first field, the second field will have “before”, “before or on”, “is”, “after”, or “on or after” options. The last field will be date picker. Another example is if you select E-Verify Status for the first field, the second field will have “is” or “is not” options, and the last field will have E-Verify status selections to choose from.
The types of filters you can build are:
Step: Results based on which step in the I-9 flow the worker is in, such as Pending Section 2 or Completed.
Expiration: Results based on a certain expiration date value (or, before, or after).
Start Date: Results based on a worker's start date (or, before, or after).
Section 2 Selection: Results based on which Section 2 verification method was chosen by the worker,r either Authorized Representative, On-Site Verification, or Live Video Verification.
Rejected: Can be used if your company has I-9 Form approval enabled. Choose either true or false:
If true is selected, you will see results for workers who have a rejected I-9 form.
If false is selected, you will see results for workers who have I-9 forms that have not been rejected.
E-Verify status: Results based on the worker’s main E-Verify case status, such as Authorized, Mismatch, or Processing.
E-Verify government status: Results based on the E-Verify case sub-status returned from E-Verify, which is usually more specific than the main E-Verify status, such as Closed authorized, Pending referral, Unsubmitted Receipt.
Case Tags: Results based on workers with a specific case tag or set of case tags. Learn more about Case Tags in this article.
To layer on additional filter criteria, click + Add condition group (OR) and then + Filter. These layered filters will be considered on an “or” basis.
Tip!
In addition to filtering by I-9 data, you can also filter by custom worker attributes in the filters screen.
