To add a new service one should navigate to tab “services” in the Management section of My Hub and tap on “Add service” at the top right corner of the screen.
For the previous step check the post Service configuration 1. General settings.
The second step of a service’s configuration is Payment methods set-up.
“Payment methods” section includes:
1. trip cost calculation options
2. available payment options
This post will cover “Trip cost calculation options”.
1. Select the “Order total calculation” option that best befits your business model.
Enabled - trip cost is calculated automatically as per taximeter mode and fee settings
Disabled - trip cost calculation is disabled. The driver should enter trip cost manually based on the data of their car taximeter.
Mind that in case “Order total calculation” is disabled a company should consider all the risks of drivers tempering with trip cost.
2. Enable surge pricing calculation in Dynamic pricing section. Read up on the feature set-up in Dynamic pricing.
3. Enable the toggle “Starting bonus from customers to drivers” to make the offer more attractive to drivers and specify bonus amounts that will be available in the Customer app. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 bonuses can be configured.
4. Allow/disallow a driver to “Add extra” to the trip cost at the stage of final payment confirmation by selecting/deselecting “Allow driver to add extra cost” checkbox. Extra expenses may include those of toll roads, bridges or fee for the extra luggage. “Extra cost” is logged in Customer/Driver apps trip history, Trip summary, Order report (column “extra cost”). Mind that there is no limitation on the sum allowed in “Add extra” field, thus a company may consider the risk of driver fraud and human error when activating the option.
5. Activate the “Allow customer to tip” checkbox to let your customers add a tip to the trip cost. Consult for details in How to leave tips to drivers.
6. Enable the “Fixed cost” option, so that order total is calculated automatically and fixed once a customer specifies both pick-up and drop-off addresses. In case the service works on “Fixed cost” the trip fare is fixed despite any changes of route and time on the ride.
Alternatively, if “Fixed cost” is disabled or no drop-off is added, the trip cost is calculated based on the fee settings calculations. For such services final cost will be calculated as per the actual time and distance on the ride.
Should one want to make sure “Fixed cost” calculation applies they may want to request mandatory drop-off for their customer app. If interested, drop us a message on support@onde.app (for Lolo: support@ridelolo.com).
IMPORTANT:
1. "Fixed cost" may be overridden if a driver is allowed to “Add extra”.
2. For an Operator app order in "Accepted" status, if pick-up and drop-off are edited, fixed cost recalculation is triggered.
Now that we have covered all the trip calculation options in Payment methods, let’s go over the payment methods to cover the trip cost in Service configuration 3. Payment methods: types.
