Price rounding feature allows companies to set a rounding rule that will make the final trip cost figure rounded. Rounding logic is primarily aimed at keeping a customer happy to trigger user retention.
This is handy in the following business cases:
- to avoid complications with change when cash payment method is used;
- to meet local regulations;
- to make prices and bills look more attractive.
Price rounding is applicable for the following cases:
1. Estimation:
estimated price is always rounded up (higher or equal to the non-rounded one). Final cost is calculated from the non-rounded estimation, so the initial rounding is done for visual purpose only.
2. Final price:
a. can be rounded down (lower or equal to non-rounded one) - when no additional fees are applied;
b. can be rounded up (higher or equal to non-rounded one) - to make Additional On-top Fee and Transaction Fee correct and add rest to make the final price rounded.
How to enable Price rounding:
To activate Price Rounding access My Hub > proceed to the tab Company settings > General > tap “Edit settings“ and hover over to the “Advanced Settings” section > select the required ‘Degree of accuracy’ value.
By default rounding correction is displayed to both customers and drivers and is logged in Order details of both apps as well as Trip summary.
One can choose to hide the rounding correction from both customers and drivers, or for either party
For that, tick the required checkbox:
Hide degree of accuracy from Driver
Hide degree of accuracy from Customer
Degree of accuracy is the minimum value left non-rounded.
The default degree of accuracy is 0.00. With this accuracy all prices remain non-rounded.
If the degree of accuracy is set to 1.00, all final prices are rounded to integer numbers (1.00, 20.00, etc.)
For instance, if the final trip cost is 2,2 or 2,7 on condition that no additional fees are applied, the trip cost will be rounded down to 2,0.
In general, within the price range of 2,0 to 2,99999 the final trip cost will be 2,0. It may equal 2,0 when the trip cost is actually 2,0.
In case one selects a smaller value in “Degree of accuracy’, for instance 0.10, the rounding will be to the closest value: 2,27 will be rounded to 2,2, 2,62 to 2,6 etc.
A company should be careful when selecting larger values in degree of accuracy.
If one sets rounding to 1000.00, the prices will be rounded to 1000, 2000, 3000, etc.
For example, a trip cost of 1750 will be rounded to 1000.
If the rounding correction is 500.00 the prices will be rounded to 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 etc. For instance, any trip with a cost between 1500 to 2000 will be rounded to 1500.
Make sure to test and select the “Degree of accuracy" value most suitable for your business!
