Working patterns

To start the process of setting up a new working pattern, start by clicking on the ‘Admin’ option on the main oneHR menu. From here, then click on the ‘Work Patterns’ options from the admin sub-menu.

Here you will be presented with a list of existing working patterns along with the option to add a new one.

When you select an existing work pattern from the drop down menu, you will be able to see a list of employees that this pattern has been assigned to, further down on this page.

You will also be able to see a breakdown of this working pattern, along with the days and hours that make up this pattern.

Setting up a new working pattern

To set up a new working pattern, start by clicking on the ‘add’ button at the top of the page.

You will then be prompted to enter some initial setup information. This information being:

The type – There are two options for what type of working pattern we are creating:

· 1 – or more weeks (Monday – Sunday)

· Single or split shift Rota

What existing pattern this new one is based on – This gives you a template that you can tweak if the two working patterns are similar.

Name – This is the name of the working pattern. It is best to be descriptive in naming the working pattern.

Once you have added/entered this initial setup information, you are now able to click on the save button. From here you are now able to set the working days, hours and whether or not these work days are also Working from Home days.

Once you have updated the working days and hours for this new working pattern, click on the update button in the top-right-hand corner to save the changes.

This new working pattern can now be assigned to users to ensure that their leave and absence is recorded and deducted in relation to their specific pattern of work.

You can assign a working pattern to an employee back at the top of this working patterns page. After clicking on the ‘assign’ button, you can assign this new working pattern to one or many employees.
