Why shouldn't I just look for a freelance translator myself?

What is the added value of a translation agency compared to an independent translator?

  • An independent translator commands two or three languages, while a translation agency can offer all language combinations.

  • An independent translator often only has a few specialisms, while a translation agency has a range of them.

  • An independent translator has more difficulty meeting tight deadlines, while a translation agency can distribute the work.

  • An independent translator does not have the same technological resources as a translation agency (translation organiser, translation memory, terminology lists, quality controllers, etc.).

  • An independent translator revises their own work; a translation agency has the translation revised by a colleague with a similar profile - because two heads are better than one.

  • An independent translator is not always aware of their strengths and weaknesses, while a translation agency can weigh things up and knows exactly which translator is best suited for your project.

  • An independent translator is not always available, while Oneliner is at your service 24/7/365!
