Google Search Console (formerly called Google Webmaster Tools) is a free set of tools the OneLocal team uses to:

  • understand the historical organic search performance of a website and keywords

  • conduct keyword and content research when building a new website

  • upload an XML sitemap when a new site is launched or major site changes are made to ensure Google is informed there are pages to be crawled and indexed

  • monitor and/or consult if there appear to be crawling or indexing issues

  • consult Core Web Vitals, which indicate how well a site is performing from a mobile and user experience perspective

We identify if your website has added to Google Search Console, by looking for a snippet of code embedded in your Home Page (e.g. <meta name="google-site-verification" content="4MoZoQWG_kEW0Zu1ou48_fzCHfi_eOZOvEa7k" /><meta). If we find this code, we will as if you have and can provide access to us.

If you've been asked to connect OneLocal with your existing Google Search Console account, please follow these easy steps below!

  1. Go to https://search.google.com/search-console/about, click start now and login to your account.

  2. Click on “Settings” and then click on the arrow next to “Users and permissions”:

3. Next, click the blue “Add user” button in the top right corner:

4. Enter gsc@onelocal.com as the email address and the permission as Full and click Add.
