As we all know, the messaging industry has gone through major shifts over the past few years. Businesses regularly send consumers texts for everything from alerts, to appointment reminders, to notifications and marketing promotions. There has also naturally been an increase in the volume of spam and a decrease in message quality.
Mobile carriers in the U.S. like AT&T, US Cellular, and T-Mobile are taking steps to keep channels free of spam and maintain quality, as more and more businesses start texting their customers. As a result, they are creating a new set of standards, registration processes and message blocking for non-compliant 10DLC phone numbers.
As a result, our messaging partner Twilio has, in turn, implemented requirements and process for registering OneLocal customer numbers to ensure compliance and improve text deliverability. In order to ensure our customers are compliant with these new standards and de-risk messages from being blocked, we are automatically registering all existing customers sending messages to U.S. recipients.
What Does This Mean for My Text Messages?
Messages sent via OneLocal to U.S. recipients will now being delivered with a higher level of trust and authority under this A2P 10DLC protocol. A2P business registration will enable carriers to deliver messages at faster speeds, with higher throughput and enhanced deliverability.
