Steps to connect your domain to Onepage using the A-Record method

Follow these steps to connect your domain via A-Record:

Step 1: Purchase your domain

Sign up with a domain provider such as Namecheap, Strato etc. and register your own domain.

Step 2: Open the domain settings in Onepage

Log in to Onepage and select your project.

Go to Settings ➡️ Domain Settings.

Step 3: Add your domain

Click on “Connect custom domain”, enter your domain without www, and click “Next step.”

Step 4: Select A-Record method and add DNS entries

After adding your domain in Onepage, you'll be asked how you’d like to connect your domain – you'll have the option to choose between A-Record and Nameserver.

👉 Select the A-Record method.
Onepage will now show you two DNS entries that you need to add to your domain provider’s settings exactly as shown:

A-Record:

  • Host/Name: Enter @ to point to the root domain

  • Type: Select A as the record type

  • Value: Enter the IP address provided by Onepage: 216.162.200.200

  • TTL: Use the default value (usually 3600 seconds)

CNAME:

  • Host/Name: www

  • Value: Copy and paste your domain here as shown in the Onepage domain settings

⚠️ Important: Make sure to copy both entries exactly as shown – this is the only way to ensure your domain connects correctly.

Once you’ve added and saved the records with your domain provider, click “Okay, got it” in Onepage to move forward.

Step 5: Check Live Status

After saving both DNS entries (A-Record and CNAME) and clicking “Okay, got it” in Onepage, the platform will show you the Live Status of your domain connection.

You can now follow the process live as Onepage checks everything for you. There are three steps:

  1. DNS entries are correct:
Onepage checks whether your A-Record and CNAME are properly set up. If everything looks good, this step will turn green.

  2. All servers updated:
Once your changes are globally active, Onepage will detect that too. This step turns green when DNS propagation is complete.

  3. SSL certificate is being generated:
Finally, Onepage automatically generates an SSL certificate so your site is accessible securely via HTTPS. This may take a few minutes, and you can watch the progress live.

📌 Please note: It may take up to 24 hours for DNS changes to propagate.

Once all three steps are marked green, your domain is successfully connected to Onepage!

🎉 Your website is now live and reachable via your custom domain – fully secured with SSL encryption!
