Step 1: Access Onepage domain settings

Go to settings ➡️ Project settings ➡️ Domain settings.

Step 2: Add your domain

Please add your domain with a subdomain. In most cases it is "www".

For example: www.yourpage.com

If required, you can select your own subdomain.

For example: offer.yourpage.com

⚠️ Important: Most domain providers do not allow you to connect the main domain without a subdomain (such as "www") via CNAME.

If you absolutely want to use your domain without "www", we recommend selecting the name server method or setting up a forwarding rule.

Step 3: Select CNAME method

Click on "Via CNAME record" and then on "Check".

Step 4: Reload Onepage

The domain will now be transferred. Please reload the Onepage browser tab so that the domain is displayed.

Step 5: Log in to Ionos

Log in to Ionos and click on the Menu ➡️ Domains & SSL

Step 6: Access DNS Settings

Find your domain and click on Actions ➡️ DNS

Step 7: Click "Add record"

Step 8: Select CNAME

Step 9: Add record and save

Please set the record as follows:

Type: CNAME

Host name: www (or any other subdomain, such as "go" or "offer".)

Points to: whitelabel.onepage.io

TTL: 30 minutes (or leave the standart set value)

⚠️ Important: It may take a few hours to connect the domain (up to 48 hours in rare cases). It is therefore possible that the domain will not work immediately.

🎉 The connection between Onepage and Ionos is now set up! 🎉

Set up forwarding from main domain to "www"

With the CNAME method, the subdomain is connected to Onepage, therefore the page will be accessible at www.yourpage.com, for example.

If you absolutely want to access the page without "www", you can set a redirect so that you are redirected from the main domain to the "www" subdomain.

Step 1: Click on "Set up domain forwarding"

Find the administration page of your domain and scroll down until you see the "Set up domain forwarding" button.

Step 2: Add the rule and save

  • Please enter your domain with "www" in the "Forwarding destination" field.

    For example: www.yourpage.com

  • Please deactivate the option "Also set up for www subdomain".

Frequently asked questions and solutions

I have set everything according to the instructions, but the domain does not work.

The domain connection may take some time, so please wait a few hours.

The most important points to note:

  • The subdomain (usually "www") must also be provided in Onepage.

  • It is not necessary to enter the domain in the CNAME entry. You only need to enter the subdomain (e.g. "www") and the target "whitelabel.onepage.io".

Do I also have to add the "www" Subdomain in Onepage?

Yes, please add in Onepage as well.

Why is my page unavailable without "www"?

As you have connected a subdomain with "www", it may be that the domain without "www" does not work.

In this case, you must add a forwarding rule in the DNS settings of your domain provider that forwards users from the domain without "www"to the domain with "www".

For a more detailed instruction, please contact your domain provider.
