There are three ways to add fields in the web app: you can select fields on the map, draw fields, or upload files with field boundaries.

🔎 How to select fields on the map

  1. If you're adding fields for the first time, click the 'Fields' tab in the main menu.

  2. You'll see a list of three options, each with a button: 'Select on map', 'Draw fields', and 'Upload file'. Click 'Select on map'. (Note: If you've already added fields, click 'Add fields', and then 'Select on map'.)

  3. Zoom into the map until you see field borders appear. Click your field, and it will automatically appear in the field list.

  4. Select all of your fields and click 'Save' to finish.

If you're physically located next to the field, click the geolocation icon on the right side of the screen and allow the web app to determine your location. This will show you on the map all the fields near you and simplify the process of finding and adding your field(s).

You can also search for a field using its coordinates. Just open the 'Fields' tab and click the magnifying glass icon. Type in the coordinates in the search bar and press 'Enter'.

All of the fields will be shown in the OneSoil Scouting mobile app after you save.

If the field borders aren't accurate, you can easily edit them.

🖌 How to draw fields

  1. If you're adding fields for the first time, click the 'Fields' tab in the main menu and select 'Draw fields'. If you've already added fields, click '+ Add Fields', and then select 'Draw fields'.

  2. Find the field you're looking for and outline it by clicking the map to make a shape. Every click creates a point and connects to the previous point with a line between them.

  3. Move the points to specify your field boundaries.

  4. If you want to delete a point, right-click it.

  5. To finish, click the first point and click 'Save'.

All of the fields will be shown in the OneSoil Scouting mobile app after you save.

📥 How to upload files with field borders

  1. Open the 'Fields' section in the web app. Click the 'Add fields' button and select 'Upload file'.

  2. To upload the file, drag it into the browser window or select it from your computer, by pressing 'Select files'.

  3. If your file contain information about crops, sowing date, harvest date and yield, you can import these data as well. Please check this article to learn more about uploading files with fields borders and history.

  4. Press 'Save' to finish.

All of the fields will be shown in the OneSoil Scouting mobile app after you save.
