Manage your fields for better navigation and representativeness.

🌱 How to compare fields

The web app has two ways to compare a field's vegetation index for different days:

  1. The Grid/Slider tool. Select a field and click the split-window icon in the right part of the screen. After that, select the dates for which you want to compare NDVI data. In Grid view, move the mouse cursor over the field to check and compare NDVI values in a particular point for different days. The Slider changes the NDVI overlay for the day shown.

  2. Vegetation index chart in the 'Weather' tab. Open the 'Weather' tab and select a field. If you haven't already done so, add a crop and planting date to your field. After that, the app will build the vegetation index chart for the selected period.

The app currently doesn't have a special feature to compare different fields.

How to group fields

You can group fields by crop. In the web app, go to the 'Fields' tab and click the settings icon above the field list. Check the 'Group by crop' option and click 'Apply'. In the mobile app, pull up the field list and tap the sorting settings button. Click the 'Group by crop' tumbler, and you're good to go!

There is no special feature to group fields by folders or farms.

🌗 How to sort fields

You can sort fields by crop, name, vegetation index, yield, planting date, and harvest date in the 'Fields' tab in the mobile or web app.

You can't change field order yourself.

🎨 Color-coded filling

The 'Filling' and 'Value' features enable you to get an overall picture of your fields. 'Filling' shows a color-coded representation of the selected criteria, while 'Value' overlays a text description of the selected criteria for your fields. You can choose to display the filling and value for average NDVI, crop, sowing date, harvest date, yield, and NDVI heterogeneity.

To set the filling in the web app, open the 'Fields' tab and select the filling and value criteria in the top part of the screen. In the mobile app, the criteria can be selected above the field list.

You can't change colors or assign your own for these values.

📐 How to check field area

There are several ways to view the area for one or more fields:

  1. The field's area is indicated next to the field name if you open the field list in the mobile or web app.

  2. Ruler tool. Open the 'Fields' tab in the web app and click the ruler icon on the right side of the screen. Set points and connect them to see the area for the selected shape.

  3. Group fields by crop to see the area for each crop in the mobile or web app. In the web app, go to the 'Fields' tab and click the settings icon above the field list. Check the 'Group by crop' option and click 'Apply'.

In the mobile app, pull up the field list and tap the sorting settings button. Click the 'Group by crop' tumbler, and you're good to go!

🤝 How to share a field

The OneSoil Scouting mobile app allows you to share fields and notes with other people, even if they haven't registered in the app. They'll be able to view the information you share but won't be able to edit it.

To share a field, select the field you need in the field list and tap the 'Share field' button.
