Adding fields

There are four ways you can add fields:

1️⃣ Upload a file with field boundaries. Click '+ Add fields' and select 'Upload file'. Our app supports .shp, .shx, .sbn, .sbx, .dbf, .prj, .zip, .kml, .json, .geojson, .kmz, .gpkg, .gdb, .gmt, and .jml files up to 10 MB in size. If your file contains data about crops, planting dates, harvest dates, and yield, you can transfer this data, too. If the app reports an error when uploading files, e-mail us at care@onesoil.ai or write to our support chat in the app and describe the issue.

2️⃣ Select the fields on the map. We've already identified and delineated fields on the map using satellite images. You just need to select your field and click 'Save'.

3️⃣ Draw the fields. If you think our boundaries are not accurate enough, you can draw fields manually: click '+ Add fields' → 'Draw fields'. Use your mouse to place points on the map and delineate your field's boundaries.

4️⃣ Adding field boundaries via John Deere Operations Center. We explain how to do that here.

Groups of fields

To more easily manage your fields, organize them into groups. You have the flexibility to choose the criteria for grouping your fields, such as crop type, location, farm name, client name, and more. You can also create subgroups within existing groups.

To create a group, click the '+' symbol in the field list and select 'Create group'. Or use the 'Create group' button in the sidebar. Provide a name for the group and start adding fields to it.

To add fields to a group, navigate to the 'My Fields' tab, select the desired fields from the list, and move them to the corresponding folder. Or just drag and drop one or several fields into/from the field list and groups.

Field groups can be conveniently accessed through a dedicated sidebar menu. Expand the menu by clicking on the arrow icon at the top of the field list.

To collapse the side menu, click the arrow again.

To delete a group, click the three dots next to its name. Note that deleting a field group will remove all of its contents.

Important ❗️

Field groups are created consistently across all seasons.

💡 If you want to group, sort, or change the order of fields in the list, click the 'Sort' button to the right of the field list. Organize it the way you want!

Exporting field boundaries

Want to download your field boundaries? This option is only available to OneSoil PRO users!

💡 If you want to activate the export of field boundaries for your OneSoil PRO account, contact us via the in-app support chat or e-mail us at care@onesoil.ai.

You can export boundaries in .geoJson, .geopkg, .kml, or .shp formats. You can download boundaries:

  • From the field list

  • From the field report page

  • From the group of fields

  • From account settings

Fields are in place. Let's move on!

The next step is field activation and data processing.
