Changing a Target for a Specific Time Period

Do you need to remove or adjust a target for a specific period of time? Maybe you have a user going on holiday, or are having a week where you want to focus on one specific metric, and therefore need to adjust targets accordingly. Here's what you need to do:

Overriding Targets for Specific Dates

  1. Head to the Targets tab, under the Motivate menu in the navigation bar.

  2. Click the + Create target button on the top right of the new page.

  3. In the Create Targets menu, input the details of the temporary target. For example, if you have a user going on holiday, you need to set the Value as 0.

    Under Start and End, enter the dates that the user will have a different target over. This will ensure the normal target will not be overridden long-term.

    Once you have done this, click Create Target.

  4. You can check this has worked by scrolling to the user's name and looking at their target bar - it should now look something like this:

    You should be able to see that there is an adjusted target for only this specific time, with the normal target showing either side.
