Custom automations allow you to automate a number of handy processes on the platform. An automation has a single owner, only the owner can make changes. However, there may be instances where the owner of an automation may need to transfer it to another user. This may happen when an employee leaves the company, or when the owner moves to a different role within the organization. Whatever the reason may be, transferring a custom automation can be done easily and efficiently.

In this article, we'll discuss the steps required to transfer an automation from one user to another.

Transferring Ownership As The Owner

To transfer a custom automation, you must be the owner.

Step 1: Navigate to the Automation You Want to Transfer

Go to Manage in the main navigation menu and select Custom automations. Locate the automation you would like to transfer and select it to open the automation.

Step 2: Select the 'Transfer Ownership' Option

Once you've selected the automation you want to transfer, click on the action button menu in the top right corner. From here, select the Transfer ownership option. This will open a window where you can select the user you'd like to transfer the automation to.

Step 3: Select the User You'd Like to Transfer the Automation To

On the 'Transfer Ownership' window, select the user you'd like to transfer the automation to. You can do this by typing in the user's name in the dropdown provided. Once you've selected the user, click 'Transfer'.

That's it! The automation has now been transferred to the user you selected. The new owner will now have full access to edit and manage the automation.
