Add a New Sub-Organization

In this article, you will learn how to add a sub-organization to your current Onfleet organization.

Onfleet customers with an Enterprise plan have the ability to create multiple Onfleet organizations at no additional cost via the multi-brand account support feature. This is an especially useful feature for larger companies that operate in multiple geographic regions. Additionally, sub-organizations can inherit billing from the primary organization, streamlining financial management for enterprises.

To add a sub-organization:

  1. Log into the organization owner account.

  2. Select the "Settings" icon located at the top right corner of the dashboard.

  3. Go to the "Connections" tab in the "Settings" window.

  4. Enter the email address of the administrator for the new sub-organization. Please note the email must be unique and not already in use in Onfleet.

  5. Select "Sub-Organization" for the connection type. By selecting "Sub-Organization," the new organization will automatically inherit billing from the primary organization. Choosing "Standard" will result in a standalone organization that does not inherit billing.

  6. Select "Send Invite"

  7. Have the new administrator user set up the new organization via the email invite they receive.

Common Errors and How to Resolve Them

Issue: Accidentally Creating a Standard Organization

If you mistakenly create a connected organization as a "Standard organization," it will not inherit billing from the primary organization. Unfortunately, a standard organization is standalone and cannot be converted to a sub-organization or retroactively linked to the primary organization’s billing.

Resolution:

To resolve this issue, you will need to recreate the organization as a sub-organization:

  1. Edit the existing organization email and user email to free them up for reuse.

  2. Log into your primary organization account.

  3. Go to SettingsConnections and start the process of creating a new organization.

  4. Select Sub-Organization as the organization type during setup. This ensures the new organization inherits billing from the primary organization.
