In this article, you will learn how to use Onfleet's Route Analytics tool which is currently available in Scale and Enterprise plans in the Beta version.
The information provided in Route Analytics will allow administrators and dispatchers to better gauge driver performance and route performance, allowing your team to make efficiency improvements to both drivers and planned routes. This data can also assist in providing drivers with a better experience by adjusting service time, task load, or route length.
Note: This feature is designed for organizations with scheduled delivery routes.
Turn on Route Analytics
To enable Route Analytics, an organization administrator can:
Go to Settings.
Select the Reports tab.
Choose either Capture Route Analytics Dynamically or Capture Route Analytics on a Schedule.
Capture Route Analytics Dynamically:
With this option, Onfleet waits until the driver starts their first task of the day before capturing a snapshot of the route.
Capture Route Analytics on a Schedule
With this option, the administrator selects the days on which Route Analytics should be captured and sets a Snapshot Time.
The Snapshot Time is the designated time for your organization when Onfleet can assume that routing for the day has been completed. At this time, Onfleet captures the planned route values, which are then used to compare the planned performance against the actual route performance.
Accessing Route Analytics
To access Route Analytics, select the "Route Analytics" tab within your Onfleet dashboard:
Once you're in the Route Analytics section, you can filter the analytics by Team, Driver, and Date.
Please note that the selected date must be prior to the current date.
After selecting your desired filters, click Update to view the corresponding Route Analytics data.
Note: Currently users are only able to view 3 days' worth of route analytics.
Now you will be able to view the routes related to the teams and/or drivers you selected for your Route Analytics:
This view of the Route Analytics will display all the Routes driven in the timeline you have chosen and a quick view of:
Route Name - The name of the Route if it was created via Route Zones.
Driver - The name of the driver the route was originally assigned to.
Vehicle Type - The vehicle type (car, truck, motorcycle).
Planned Completion - Planned completion time for the route.
Actual Completion - The real service time it took the driver to complete the route.
Absolute Difference - The difference between the planned completion time and actual completion time.
Relative Difference - The difference in duration (planned duration/in transit vs. Actual in transit duration of task).
Viewing Route Details
To view more comprehensive details of a Route, you can select the route from the table:
Once you have selected the route, you will have a full view of the task details from the route:
This window will display a map of the route the driver took and the following details:
Task ID - The short ID for the task performed
Route Name - The name of the Route if it was created via Route Zones.
Planned Driver - The name of the driver the route was originally assigned to.
Actual Driver - The name of the driver that performed the route.
Vehicle Type - The vehicle type (car, truck, motorcycle).
Planned Service Time (if applicable) - "Service Time" entered for the route.
Actual Service Time - The real service time it took for the driver to complete the route.
Planned Completion - Planned completion time for the route.
Actual Completion - The real service time it took the driver to complete the route.
Absolute Difference - The difference between the planned completion time and actual completion time
Task Delay - Delay time it took to complete tasks.
