If some of your subscriptions are coming in under a different currency than USD, it’s likely because your Shopify store is set up to allow purchases in multiple currencies. Shopify processes orders in the currency selected by the customer during checkout, and this is reflected in the subscriptions app for accuracy.

To ensure that all subscription orders in your Shopify store are processed exclusively in USD, you can adjust your store's currency settings and manage your markets accordingly. Here's how to proceed:

  1. Set Your Store's Default Currency to USD:

    • Navigate to your Shopify admin panel.

    • Go to Settings > Store details.

    • In the Store currency section, select USD from the dropdown menu.

    • Click Save to apply the changes.

Setting USD as your default currency ensures that all product prices and transactions are primarily in USD.

  2. Configure Market Settings to Restrict Other Currencies:

    • From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Markets.

    • Click on each market where you want to enforce USD as the sole currency.

    • Under the Products and pricing section, ensure that the Show prices to customers in their local currency option is deselected.

    • Click Save to confirm the changes.

By deactivating local currencies for specific markets, customers in those regions will see and pay in USD.

  3. Test the Checkout Process:

    • After implementing these changes, simulate a subscription purchase to verify that the checkout process displays and processes payments exclusively in USD.

Testing ensures that customers experience the intended currency settings during their transactions.

By following these steps, you can standardize your subscription orders to be processed solely in USD, providing a consistent experience for your customers and simplifying your financial reporting.

Why are subscription orders displayed in different currencies in the subscriptions app?

If your Shopify store allows customers to purchase in different currencies, Shopify will display subscription orders in the currency the customer used at checkout. This is designed to provide a more accurate and detailed view of transactions within the subscriptions app, reflecting the customer's chosen currency for a seamless shopping experience.
