You achieve this by adding minimum time commitments to your subscription plan.
What is a minimum time commitment for subscriptions?
A minimum time commitment is the guaranteed minimum amount of time that your subscriber will be subscribed.
They won't be able to cancel or pause their subscription until AFTER the minimum time commitment has been reached.
Here's how it works.
The minimum commitment is based off the billing frequency and has to be a multiple of your billing frequency.
Don't worry, we make it easy by showing you a summary of how long the customer will have to be subscribed for based on your settings. It'll say something like "The customer will be able to cancel after 3 months."
What we recommend
We recommend a minimum of 3 billing cycles for all subscription plans. That would mean 3 shipments minimum to get the subscription discount.

The possible minimum time commitments can be:
Minimum of 2 months
Minimum of 3 months (require at least 3 billing cycles) *recommended setup*
Minimum of 4 months
Minimum of 5 months
Minimum of 6 months
etc....
Example: Billing frequency of every 2 months
The possible minimum time commitments can be:
Minimum of 4 months
Minimum of 6 months (require at least 3 billing cycles) *recommended setup*
Minimum of 8 months
Minimum of 10 months
etc....
Example: Billing frequency of every 3 months
The possible minimum time commitments can be:
Minimum of 6 months
Minimum of 9 months (require at least 3 billing cycles) *recommended setup*
Minimum of 12 months
etc....
How to Set Up
From Ongoing, click on your subscription plan & click Show Advanced
Click Require Minimum Time Commitment
Enter the number of required billing cycles
Click Save
In this example, we are doing a monthly billing and monthly delivery with a 3 month minimum time commitment.
