The jmc Family portal allows you to personalize email alerts for academic updates, attendance activity, and lunch balances. Choose the notifications that matter most—such as missing assignments or low lunch balances—and receive timely updates that help you stay informed and support your student.
To begin, log in to the jmc Family portal and navigate to Academics > Alert Configuration.
Step One: Select the student you'd like to set alerts for from the student drop-down list.
Step Two: Enter a threshold in the "Low Balance Limit" field in the "Family Lunch Balance Alert" box to receive an alert when your student’s balance falls below that amount, and then click the "Save" button.
Helpful Tip: Enter a number with or without a decimal—no dollar sign required—to set your low balance alert threshold. For example, enter 2.50 to receive an alert when your family lunch account balance falls to $2.50 or lower.
Step Three: Place a checkmark in the appropriate checkboxes in the "Period Attendance Alert" box, then click the "Save" button to configure period attendance alerts for the selected student.
Step Four: Place a checkmark in the appropriate checkboxes in the "Missing/Late Scores Alert" box and click the "Save" button to configure academic alerts for missing or late work.
Helpful Tip: To receive text alerts for missing or late assignments, enter a cell phone number on the "Contact Information" page and opt in to receive SMS (text messages).
Fun Fact: Missing or late assignment alerts are sent whenever a teacher publishes their gradebook.
Step Five: Enter a threshold grade in the "Percentage" field for each course in the "Grade Alert" box then click the "Save" button to receive an alert when your student’s grade falls below that percentage.
Helpful Tip: To apply the same "Grade Alert" threshold to all courses, enter a percentage in the first "Percentage" field and click the"Fill Percentage Column" link.
