In the jmc Family portal, you can personalize alert settings for academic, attendance, and lunch balance notifications, ensuring that you receive timely email notifications to stay informed about important student events and identify potential issues like missing scores, low grades, and low lunch balances before they become problems. Stay up-to-date with "just-in-time" information that empowers you to effectively support your kiddos and never miss a significant circumstance.

To set up your family's alert configurations, simply log in to the jmc Family portal and navigate to Academics > Alert Configuration.

Step One: Select the student you'd like to set alerts for from the student drop-down list.

Step Two: Set a threshold for receiving lunch balance alerts in the "Low Balance Limit" field of the "Family Lunch Balance Alert" box to be alerted when your student's balance falls below your selected threshold.

Helpful Tip: No need for "$", just enter a number with or without a decimal to set your threshold for receiving low balance alerts. For example, enter "2.50" to receive an alert when your family lunch account balance drops to $2.50 or lower.

Step Three: Click the "Save" button below the "Family Lunch Balance Alert" box to save changes to the lunch account alerts.

Step Four: Place a checkmark(s) in the appropriate checkboxes in the "Period Attendance Alert" box to receive an alert when your student is reported absent or tardy.

Step Five: Click the "Save" button below the "Period Attendance Alert" box to save changes to the attendance alerts.

Step Six: Place a checkmark(s) in the appropriate checkboxes in the "Missing/Late Scores Alert" box to receive alerts regarding your student's academic progress whenever a teacher publishes their gradebook.

Fun Fact: The option to receive text alerts for missing or late scores will only be available if you have a cell phone number listed in your contact information and have opted in to receive SMS (text messages). To ensure that you have access to this feature, make sure to provide your cell phone number in the designated field on the Contact Information page and indicate your preference for receiving text messages.

Step Eight: Enter a threshold grade percentage in the "Percentage" field for each course in the "Grade Alert" box to have an alert emailed when your student's performance drops below the entered threshold.

Helpful Tip: To make all "Grade Alert" thresholds the same, enter your percentage in the first "Percentage" field and click the "Fill Percentage Column" link to fill the percentage into all courses.

Step Nine: Click the "Save" button below the "Grade Alert" box to save changes to the grade alert thresholds.
