Health professionals can save time and data entry with jmc by utilizing the Minnesota Department of Health's Minnesota Immunization Information Connection (MIIC) database to keep immunization records in jmc up to date. The first step in utilizing MIIC is establishing a connection between jmc and MIIC through exporting a MIIC list file. With a few clicks you can establish your school's population within the MIIC system so you can make sure students are up to date on their immunizations!

Start by going to Health > Immunizations > Export MIIC List File.

Step One: Select a radio button from the "Select" box to identify which students will be exported. Then fill out the appropriate fields highlighted below.

  • By Sequential: enter a range of student IDs in the "From" and "To" fields

  • By Random: select one or more students by entering their name or student ID in the "Find" drop-down list

  • By Grade: enter a grade level range in the "From" and "To" drop-down lists

  • By Advisor: enter a range of advisor IDs in the "From" and "To" fields

Fun Fact: The "List File" is typically created for all grade levels at once to minimize the number of files you need to upload.

Step Two: Click the "Check Errors" button to detect any data errors that would prevent student data from being included in the MIIC List File.

Helpful Tip: Fix errors prior to exporting the MIIC List file to ensure all intended students are included in the export file and will be uploaded to MIIC.

Step Three: Click the "Export MIIC List File" button to save the MIIC export file to your computer.

Fun Fact: The MIIC file will export to a folder on your computer in accordance with your internet browser preferences (typically the "downloads" folder).

Helpful Tip: Upload the List File to the MIIC website once toward the beginning of the year to establish your school's student population within the MIIC database then again later on to add any students that have moved into your district.
