Help your students and adults get through the lunch line quickly and efficiently by setting your preferences in the Point of Sale portal in jmc. Maintain control over the information displayed on the Point of Sale page, such as low balances, student photos, font sizes and audible alerts.

Log into the jmc Point of Sale portal and click the hamburger menu in the upper left to access the Point of Sale Preferences menu tree.

Step One: Choose the "Windows Keyboard" or "Macintosh keyboard" radio button to select your Point of Sale computer type.

Step Two: Place a checkmark in the "Always Show Account Balances" checkbox to view account balances directly on the Point of Sale page as students go through the line.

Step Three: Enter the dollar amount in the "Low Balance Limit" field to receive an alert on the Point of Sale page when a student's account drops below the specified amount.

Step Four: Click the "Save" button to update the "Low Balance Limit".

Step Five: Select the appropriate "Student #," "Student ID," "Password (numeric)," "Locker (numeric),"or "Combination (numeric)" from the drop-down list to set your preference for entering students on the Point of Sale page.

Step Five: Place a checkmark in the "Enable Charge Sound" checkbox to enable a cash register sound after a completed transaction.

Step Six: Place a checkmark in the "Enable Low Balance Sound" checkbox to enable an alert sound indicating a student has reached the low balance threshold.

Step Seven: Place a checkmark in the "Disable Cash Button" checkbox to disallow cash transactions at the point of sale.

Step Eight: Select a font size from the "Font" drop-down list to adjust the size of the text displayed on the Point of Sale page.

Step Nine: Place a checkmark in the "Show Student Photo" checkbox to display the student photo along with the student name on the Point of Sale page.

Step Ten: Place a checkmark in the "Show Last Student Processed After a Transaction" checkbox to continue to display a transaction until a new student has entered their information.

Step Eleven: Place a checkmark in the "Default 'Charge 2nd lunch' with Enter Key" checkbox to enable students to purchase a second lunch.

Step Twelve (optional): Place a checkmark in the "Require Exact student Number match" to match students with the exact ID if you are using a scanner to select students.

Helpful Tip: To exit the preferences, click the hamburger menu and select the "Home" link to return to the homepage of jmc Point of Sale or the "Log Out" link to exit Point of Sale.
