Just as every classroom situation is unique, every teacher is unique. jmc empowers teachers to view the data that they need to see, just the way they want to see it. By default, students in each course are listed alphabetically by last name in jmc Teacher's attendance and grading modules. However, teachers can customize this view by selecting from the options in the drop-down list or by arranging an order of their choice.

In jmc Teacher head to Edit > Student Sort to customize your student list view.

Step One: Select a course using the "Courses" drop-down list to reorganize the student list for that selected course.

Step Two: Select the sort order from the "Sort Student By" drop-down list.

  • Select order: use the up or down arrows to arrange the students in your preferred order on your student list

  • First Name only: alphabetically sort students based on their first names

  • First Name and Active: sort students by their first names, with inactive students listed at the bottom of the list

  • Last Name only: alphabetically sort students based on their last names

  • Last Name and Active Status: arrange students by their last names, with inactive students placed at the bottom of the list

Step Three: Click the "Update Sorted Preference" button to sort the students on your student list.
