Advisors in jmc are teachers that are assigned to students to fulfill a variety of "homeroom" teacher roles such as communicating with families, monitoring student grades, or organizing parent-teacher conferences. In jmc Office, advisees can be assigned to teachers individually on the View Student Data page or in bulk by selecting the teacher and adding students to the selected teacher's roster.

Simplify the process of assigning advisees by doing it in bulk on the Attendance > Staff > Assign Advisees page.

Step One: Select the homeroom teacher from the "Advisors" drop-down list to begin assigning advisees.

Step Two (optional): Select a grade level from the "Grade" drop-down list to narrow the range of available students.

Fun Fact: Students that have not yet been assigned to an advisor are listed in the "Available Students" list, making it easy to identify the students that still need to be placed into a homeroom.

Step Three: Click a student's name in the "Available Students" list to add them as an advisee for the selected teacher.

Helpful Tip: Accidentally add the wrong student? Click the student's name in the "Advisees" list to move them back to the "Available Students" list.

To assign an advisor or a second advisor to a student individually, log in to jmc Office and navigate to the View Student Data page.

Step One: Enter a student's name in the "Find" field to select the student who needs an advisor or second advisor..

Step Two: Select a teacher from the "Advisor 1" and/or "Advisor 2" drop-down list to assign a primary or secondary advisor to the student.

Helpful Tip: Can't find the advisor you are looking for? Head to the Attendance > Staff > Teachers page to add a teacher to the list of available advisors.

Step Three: Click the “Save” button to update the advisor(s) assigned to the student.
