Before submitting start year data to ADVISER in Nebraska, it is important to update Ed-Fi settings in jmc Office. By configuring Ed-Fi settings, enabling interchanges, and making necessary selections, schools can seamlessly share student and school information for state reporting. Follow the steps in jmc Office's "Ed-Fi Settings" to establish the connection with ADVISER, receive error notifications, enable special education data posting, schedule automated updates, and submit attendance to the state.

To configure your Ed-Fi settings, log in to jmc Office and go to File > Administrator Options.

Step One: Click the "Ed-Fi Settings" link in the "Ed-Fi Settings" box to edit the settings that enable your connection to ADVISER.

Step Two: Place a checkmark in the "Enable Ed-Fi Interchanges" checkbox to allow jmc to send and receive information through ADVISER.

Step Three: Enter your email address in the "Ed-Fi Nightly Attendance Error Notification Email Address" field to receive an email explaining errors detected during your nightly sync.

Step Four (optional): Place a checkmark in the "Enable Posting of Ed-Fi Special Education (SSEPA) Resources" checkbox to allow the NDE to access your school's special education data.

Helpful Tip: Remove the checkmark from the "Enable Posting of Ed-Fi Special Education (SSEPA) Resource" checkbox if your school uses a system outside of jmc for maintaining and reporting special education data to the NDE.

Fun Fact: The jmc staff will enter the new API URL, Authentication URL, Client Key, and Client Secret in the appropriate fields to connect to the ADVISER server when they are made available by the NDE.

Step Five: Select an option from the "Report Detail Level" drop-down list to receive a summary or a detailed email report for nightly Ed-fi attendance submissions.

Step Six (optional): Select an option from the "Report Sort Order" drop-down list to sort email reports for nightly Ed-fi attendance submissions.

Step Seven: Place a checkmark in the "Enable Scheduled Update" checkbox to allow jmc to automatically send and receive student data during nightly ADVISER submissions.

Step Eight: Enter a time in the time field or click the clock icon to schedule a time for daily Scheduled Update submissions to ADVISER.

Step Nine: Enter your email address in the "Scheduled Update Notification Email Address" field to receive an email explaining errors detected during your nightly submission.

Step Ten: Select a building from the "Building" drop-down list to edit nightly attendance reporting settings for that building.

Step Eleven: Place a checkmark in the "Enable nightly submission for student School Attendance (required)" checkbox to submit AM/PM attendance to the state nightly.

Step Twelve (optional): Place a checkmark in the "Enable nightly submission for Student Section Attendance (recommended)" checkbox to submit period attendance to the state nightly.

Fun Fact: The "Enable nightly submission for Student Section Attendance (recommended)" function is only available for schools tracking period attendance.

Step Thirteen: Click the "Save" button to update your changes.
