The Wisconsin DPI checks school district enrollment counts to ensure proper funding during start year reporting. The accuracy of these counts relies upon correct setting of the "Third Friday in September" date, "October 1 Child Count Date" date, and kindergarten Program Schedules because only information in these time spans will be reported. Users can easily set these count dates and schedule to ensure accurate reporting.

The WISEdata count dates and kindergarten Program Schedules are set on the Edit > Edit School Data page.

Step One: Enter the "Third Friday in September" and "October 1 Child Count Dates" in the corresponding fields or simply click the calendar icons to set your count dates.

Step Two: Click the “Save” button to record your count dates.

Fun Fact: Per DPI, if you are a Private Choice school, leave the "October 1 Child Count Date" field blank as it does not apply.

Step Three: Click the “Edit” link next to the Kindergarten/Pre-K subgroup designation (for example KG, KA, KB, etc.) in the "Grade Level" box to edit the Grade 0 subgroup information.

Step Four: Select the "Grade Level" and "Program Schedule" information from the corresponding drop-down lists to report students with the correct program schedule.

Step Five: Click the “Update” link to save the Grade Level and Program Schedule entry or the "Cancel" link to discard your changes.
