The "Sensitive" tab on the "View Student Data" page in jmc Office provides a secure area for storing student legal information that should remain confidential to most jmc users. While preferred information, such as a student's name and gender, is displayed in jmc Teacher, jmc Family, jmc Student, and jmc Office, sensitive details like legal name, birth sex, lunch status, and social security number can be entered on the "Sensitive" tab for state reporting purposes, helping to maintain confidentiality.
In jmc Office, head to the "View Student Data" page and click the "Sensitive" tab to view or edit the following information:
Legal First, Last and Middle name and Legal Suffix: A student's legal first, last, and middle name, along with their legal suffix, as shown on their government ID or birth certificate. Legal names entered on the "Sensitive" tab are used to identify the student for state reporting purposes, while preferred first, last, and middle names, along with the suffix, are displayed on all jmc portals.
Birth Sex: The sex assigned to the student at birth, if different from their preferred gender identity. The preferred gender identity is displayed on all jmc portals, while the legal gender is used for state reporting purposes.
SSN: A student's social security number, used by some schools for student verification.
Lunch Status: The student's lunch eligibility status, indicating if they qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, accessible directly from the "View Student Data" page.
Economically Disadvantaged (Wisconsin only): As defined by the state of Wisconsin, a student identified through direct certification or alternative household income as meeting the requirements for free or reduced-price meals.
