Wisconsin schools are required to submit Student Education Organization Responsibility Association (SEORA) records through their student information systems. While many schools use third-party vendors for submitting special education eligibility (SSEPEA) and service (SSEPA) records, jmc offers the flexibility to manage all special education data in one place. With intuitive tools designed for accuracy and efficiency, jmc simplifies the process of entering and reporting special education records to the WISEdata portal—whether you're submitting just SEORA records or handling all special education reporting in jmc.

To create a student's special education record, head to the "SpEd" tab on the "View Student Data" page.

Step One: Enter a student's name in the "Find" field to begin editing the special education record for the selected student.

Fun Fact: Children receiving a special education evaluation prior to enrollment in your school (for example 3 year olds that have not yet entered school) are excluded from enrollment reporting by removing the the "Include in WISEdata" checkbox on the "Enrollment" tab of the View Student Data page.

Step Two: Enter a date in the "Original SpecEd Entry Date" field, or click the "Calendar" icon to the select the student's original date of entry into a special education program.

Step Three (optional): Enter a date in the "Original SpecEd End Date" field, or click the "Calendar" icon to the select the special education program's end date, if the end date is known.

Step Four: Click the "Add Row" button to create a new special education record for the student and then click the "Edit" button to begin editing the record.

Step Five: Select the appropriate option from the "Record Type" drop-down list to choose the type of special education record you'd like to create.

Fun Fact: The "Record Type" drop-down list will only show "SEORA (responsibility)" if your school submits special education eligibility (SSEPEA) and service (SSEPA) records through a third-party vendor to simplify the data entry process.

Step Six: Enter the special education details associated with the selected record type in the appropriate fields to complete the special education record.

Step Seven: Click the "Update" button to save your special education record or the "Cancel" button to discard it.

Step Eight: Repeat steps four through seven to create additional special education record types.

Helpful Tip: If your school submits only SEORA records through jmc, you can import SSEPEA and SSEPA records from WISEdata by heading to Wisconsin > Special Education History > Update Special Education History from Ed-Fi API, making them viewable on the student's "SpEd" tab.
