With so many teachers using Google Classroom as their learning management system, jmc has found a way to make teachers' lives even easier. Teachers can avoid double entry of grades while utilizing all of the tools that Google Classroom has to offer by using jmc's Google Classroom integration.
To get started with Google Classroom integration in your district, give us a call at 1.800.524.8182 or email support@jmcinc.com to enable the integration for your district.
To activate the integration at the district level, head to File > Integrations
Step One: Click the "Edit" link next to "Google Classroom Sync" to enable the integration and set a daily sync time.
Helpful Tip: Set the daily sync time for a time when all teachers would be finished entering grades for the day (for example 11:00pm) to ensure as much data as possible for the day will be synced.
Step Two: Place a checkmark in the "Enabled" checkbox to enable the integration.
Step Three: Enter a time in the "Time" field to set a time for a daily sync or simply click the clock icon.
Fun Fact: jmc will automatically pull assignments and scores from Google Classroom everyday at the time indicated in the time field and enter them into your jmc Teacher gradebooks for you.
Step Four: Click the "Save" button to save your changes for the integration.
Step Five: Click the "Sync Now" link to connect your jmc Teacher classes with your Google Classroom information for your school.
Helpful Tip: Manual syncing can be done in jmc Teacher ("Import Scores from Google Classroom Now" button) and jmc Office ("Sync Google Classroom and jmc" button) to perform an immediate sync instead of waiting for the next scheduled daily sync if information is needed right away.
Step Six: Enter a Google Classroom Admin Email to be used to sync your Google Classroom and jmc information in the appropriate text box.
Step Seven: Enter the given service account email that was supplied to you by jmc in the appropriate text box.
Step Eight: Enter the given password that was supplied to you by jmc in the appropriate text box.
Step Nine: Place a checkmark next to each building name that you would like included in the daily Google Classroom and jmc synchronization.
Step Ten: Place a checkmark in the "Export jmc courses to Google Classroom" checkbox to have jmc automatically set up Google Classrooms with jmc rosters for the teachers using the integration.
Step Eleven: Place a checkmark in the "Import Google Classroom grades and assignments to jmc" checkbox to allow jmc to import grades and assignments from Google Classroom into the jmc Teacher gradebook.
The final setup item is completed at the building level in jmc Office under File > Online Settings under the "Teacher" tab.
Step Twelve: Place a checkmark in the "Allow teachers to connect jmc and Google Classes" checkbox to allow teachers in the logged into building to access the integration.
Step Thirteen: Click the "Save" button to update changes to the teacher online settings.
