Submitting ADVISER start year data is the first of three scheduled state reporting milestones for your school. The Start Year page in jmc guides you through the process of submitting your data to the state at the beginning of the school year. Complete the items on each tab of the Start Year page in jmc Office to successfully submit your data to the state through the ADVISER portal.

In jmc Office, go to Nebraska > ADVISER > Start Year to confirm that you have completed the necessary tasks such as registering new students or importing lunch statuses, download updated state codes, and upload necessary data to the NDE satisfying your start year state reporting needs.

Step One: Click the "Prep" tab to access the checklist of items that are to be completed before the start of the school year.

Step Two: Place a checkmark in the appropriate checkboxes to indicate that you have completed the listed item.

Fun Fact: An "ADVISER Start Year Summary" page will alert you to records that need updating if you attempt to place a checkmark next to an incomplete item.

Helpful Tip: Click the "Print Summary" button to print a copy of the "ADVISER Start Year Details" that need to be completed and click the "Cancel Summary" button to return to the checklist.

Step Three: Click the first enabled button on the "Tables" tab to download the corresponding code table from the NDE and seamlessly update your jmc database for the start of the school year.

Step Four: Click the "Print Summary" button to print your download results and click the "Cancel Summary" button to return to the "Tables" tab and continue updating your jmc database for the start of the school year.

Step Five: Repeat steps three and four until each "Tables" record has been updated in your jmc database.

Step Six: Click the first enabled button on the "General" tab to begin uploading school and student data to the NDE.

Fun Fact: To enable the buttons on the "General" tab, complete all of the items on the "Prep" tab.

Step Seven: Fix any errors displayed on the "Start Year Summary" report and repeat steps six and seven until all school and student data is successfully updated in ADVISER.

Step Eight: Click the "Students" tab to view instructions for submitting student data to the NDE.

Step Nine: Click the first enabled button on the "Parents" tab to update parent information in ADVISER.

Step Ten: Fix any errors displayed on the "Start Year Summary" report and repeat steps nine and ten until all parent data is successfully updated in ADVISER.

Step Eleven: Click the first enabled button on the "Cohorts" tab to update your school's testing cohorts in ADVISER.

Step Twelve Fix errors displayed on the "Start Year Summary" report and repeat steps eleven and twelve until the testing cohorts are successfully uploaded to ADVISER.
