Once you have established categories in jmc Teacher, you are all set to incorporate assignments into your gradebook. Assignments encompass various coursework, including daily work, quizzes, tests, and projects, which are graded and recorded to determine a student's grade percentage. Simply select a category to house the assignment, assign a maximum score, set a due date, and you're good to go! This straightforward process allows you to efficiently track and calculate student grades within jmc's gradebook feature.

Head to Scores > Categories and Assignments and click the name link of the assignment to begin.

Step One: Click the "Add Assignment" link to enter the assignment information under the selected category.

Step Two: Enter the assignment name in the "Assignment Name" field to display an assignment in the Assignment Scores page.

Step Three: Enter a number in the "Max Score" field to establish the number of points possible for the assignment.

Step Four: Enter the assignment date in the "Date" field or simply click the calendar icon.

Step Five (optional): Enter a number in the "Sort Order" field to set the order that assignments will appear under the category in the view box.

Step Six (optional): Click the "Benchmarks" button to assign a benchmark to the assignment if your school reports on standards and benchmarks.

Step Seven: Click the "Save" button to add your assignment to the category you have selected.
