Wouldn't it be great if there were an easier way to sell items to families and the public than through paper order forms and paper checks? Introducing jmc's General Store. Complete with configurable item pictures, sizes, pricing, inventory tracking, and online credit card payments, the General Store is a fantastic way to sell the items you already sell and maybe some new ones too!

Setting up the store for selling requires a few basic steps of creating item categories and attributes. Head to General Store in jmc Office to begin.

Step One: Place a checkmark in the "Allow users to enter the General Store" checkbox in the "Quick Settings" to allow users to enter the store.

Step Two: Select the online payments bank account to use for general store payments using the "Choose the Bank Account all General Store purchases will go to" drop-down list.

Step Three: Enter the message you'd like families and the public to see when entering the general store in the "Displayed Message" field.

Fun Fact: Add a little pizzazz to your message using the formatting tools. Font, weight, size, the sky's the limit. Even insert a link by using the globe icon.

Step Four: Click the "Save" button to store your "General Settings" changes.

Step Five: Click the "Item Settings" tab to add item categories and item attributes.

Step Six: Click the "Click to Expand Item Category Settings" link to view item categories.

Step Seven: Click the "Add Categories" button to add a new category to the store.

Helpful Tip: A category is a group to hold similar items in your school's store - like clothing, tickets, or donations to name a few.

Step Eight: Enter the category name in the "Name" field and a brief explanation in the "Description" field.

Step Nine: Click the "Save" button to save your new category or click the "Cancel" button to discard your changes.

Step Ten: Click the "Click to Expand Item Attribute Settings" link to view all attributes or to define a new one.

Step Eleven: Click the "Add Attributes" button to create a new attribute.

Helpful Tip: Attributes are variations of an item. Size, style, and color are all examples of attributes that describe an item.

Fun Fact: Attach up to two attributes per item to add additional detail to your item.

Step Twelve: Enter a name for your attribute in the "Name" field to easily identify it.

Step Thirteen: Enter a feature of your attribute in the "Feature" field.

Helpful Tip: Features of an attribute are those characteristics that differentiate the attribute. For example small, hooded, red - the sky's the limit.

Step Fourteen: Click the "Save" button to save your new attributes and features or click the "Cancel" button to discard your changes.

Now that categories and attributes have been set up, learn about adding items to sell in the General Store.
