Nebraska schools assign students to their standardized testing process by using testing cohorts. In jmc, users can create a group for standardized tests in Nebraska by using the Activities module in jmc Office. Simply define an activity as a "State Reportable Cohort", assign a teacher as the coach/advisor and roster students.

Head to Activities > Edit Activity Definitions to create a testing cohort.

Step One: Click the “Add Activity” button to begin creating a new testing cohort entry.

Step Two: Enter numbers, letters, or a combination of both in the “Code” field to label your testing cohort.

Step Three: Enter a name in the "Activity Name" field to define your testing cohort.

Step Four: Place a checkmark in the "State Reportable Cohort" checkbox to include the "Activity" in the ADVISER Cohort reporting.

Step Five: Click the "Save" button to save the testing cohort.

Step Six: Click the "+ Add Coach/Advisor" button to add a teacher from the "Coach/Advisor" drop-down list as the teacher of the testing cohort.

Helpful Tip: Not seeing your teacher in the drop-down list? Add teachers to your coach/advisor list on the Activities > Edit Activity Coach/Advisor page.

Step Seven: Click the "Save" button to save a coach/advisor to the testing cohort or click the "Cancel" button to discard changes.

To add students to your testing cohort rosters, head to Activities > Edit Activity Rosters

Step Nine: Click a testing cohort from the "Available Activities" box to add students to the roster.

Step Ten: Select a grade from the "Grade" drop-down list to narrow the list of available students to a specific grade.

Step Eleven: Click a student's name to select a student to be added to the testing cohort roster.

Helpful Tip: To select multiple students, hold down the Ctrl key (Windows) / Command key (Mac) while clicking student names.

Step Twelve: Click the "Add Student(s)" button to add the selected students to the testing cohort roster.

Helpful Tip: Click the "Delete" link next to a student's name to remove the student from the testing cohort roster.

Step Thirteen: Click the "Print" button to print the testing cohort roster or the "Export" button to export the testing cohort roster to a CSV file.
