Record changes to the modality of learning when groups of students switch from in-person to remote learning using "Mass Change Fields."

Do you have a group of students that are switching from in-person to remote learning? No problem! Now that you are tracking learning modality data within jmc, make changes to groups of learners with just a few clicks! The "Mass Change Fields" feature automatically updates the View Student Data page to prepare individual students for state reporting.

In jmc Office at the building level, head to Edit > Mass Change Fields to update learning modalities for groups of students.

Step One: Select "Program History" from the "Change" drop-down list to access program history records.

Step Two: Select one of the following options from the "new value" drop-down list to to change the corresponding program history item.

  • Begin: enter a beginning program record for the learning modality mass change

  • End: enter an ending program record for the learning modality mass change

  • Delete Records: choose a learning modality record to delete in bulk

Step Three: Select "Learning Modality" from the "Program History records for" drop-down list to change the learning modality record within the students' program history.

Step Four: Select the appropriate state defined learning modality from the drop-down list to set the learning modality mass change value.

Step Five: Enter the date or simply click the calendar icon to associate a Begin/End program date with the mass change.

Step Six: Select a group of students from the "grade level" drop-down list to apply mass changes to a specific group.

Step Seven: Select the appropriate status from the "Active Status" drop-down list to apply changes to students within the selected group.

Step Eight: Select one of the following options from the "Tag" drop-down list to specify students that have a school defined tag such as "A", "B" or "Remote Learning" group of students with a for mass change.:

  • "All": changes learning modality for all students regardless of the tag associated with them

  • "Any Tag": changes learning modality for students with a tag

  • "No Tag": changes learning modality for students with no tag listed

Step Nine: Click the "Find Students" button to display the number of students that will be included in the mass change.

Step Ten: Click the "Update Students" button to complete the change in learning modality in the program history record for the selected group of students.
