With jmc Office, quickly and easily identify early education program students in your school right from the "View Student Data" page. Simply assign students to the appropriate grade 0 subgroup, mark their record as state reportable, and indicate whether or not the student is MARSS funded (depending on their early education program) to mark them eligible for early education funding.

To make the student’s record reportable to MDE, head to the "View Student Data" page in jmc Office.

Step One: Enter a student's name in the "Find" field to begin marking their record for early education funding.

Helpful Tip: Narrow your search to include only preschool or Kindergarten students by selecting "0" from the "Grade" drop-down list.

Step Two: Select the subgroup you've designated for early education students from the “Kdg Group” drop-down list to place the student in the appropriate early education subgroup.

Fun Fact: A checkmark is automatically placed in the "MARSS" checkbox to ensure that student records are shared with the MDE during state reporting updates.

Step Three: Click the “MARSS” tab to view the MARSS record for the selected student.

Step Four: Click the “Edit'' button to edit the student’s MARSS record.

Step Five: Remove the checkmark from the “Include in MARSS” checkbox to designate the student as enrolled in Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE) and School Readiness (SR) programs which are not MARSS funded.

Helpful Tip: Place a checkmark in the "Include in MARSS" checkbox for early education students enrolled in Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), and School Readiness Plus (SRP) programs which are MARSS funded.

Step Six: Click the “Update” button to save the selected student’s MARSS record or click the “Cancel” button to discard your changes.

Step Seven: Click either "Save" button to save your changes to the student record or simply navigate away from the page to discard your changes.
