jmc Teacher provides teachers with a user-friendly platform to communicate with families and students via email, text, or combined text and email messaging. By sending reminders, updates, and important information with just a few clicks, teachers can foster stronger connections among themselves, families, and students, ensuring everyone stays informed and engaged. Whether it's sending an email to the entire class or a quick text reminder about an upcoming test, jmc Teacher streamlines communication, making it simple to stay connected and up-to-date.


To send messages to students and contacts who are part of your classes, activities, flex offerings, or more, simply navigate to the Message Center in jmc Teacher and get started with your communication efforts.

Step One: Select a radio button from the "Select" box to identify which contacts will receive your message. Then fill out the appropriate fields highlighted below.

  • By Course: select one or more of your courses by clicking the course name in the "Select" box

  • By Random: select one or more of your students by clicking their name in the "Find" box. Then, place a checkmark in the "Include in Communications" checkbox to create a communication record of this message in the student's online file in the jmc Communication module for future reference.

  • By Advisory Group: select the students assigned to you as your advisee

  • By Activity: select one or more of your activities by clicking the activity name in the "Activities" box

  • By Flex Offering: select one or more of your flex offering by clicking the flex offering name in the "Flex Offering" box

  • By Tag: select students with an assigned tag by using the "Tag" drop-down list

Step Two: Select the appropriate radio button from the "Message Type" box, choosing either "Email", "Text Message", or "Both" to indicate the type of message you wish to send.

Step Three: Place a checkmark in the appropriate checkbox to identify who should receive your message.

  • Message Primary Contact: primary contact only

  • Message Students: student email addresses

Helpful Tip: Select both "Message Primary Contact" and "Message Students" if you'd like to send the information to both families and students.

Step Four: Click the "OK" button when you are ready to create your message.

Fun Fact: After clicking the "Ok" button, double-check your message recipients by clicking the contact records found and student records found numbers.

Step Five: Depending upon your message type fill out the appropriate fields highlighted below.

  • Email: customize your message by entering a reply-to address, Cc or Bcc email addresses, subject, message, and even attachments using the formatting tools provided in the appropriate fields

  • Text Message: enter your message in the "Text Message" box, and jmc will seamlessly deliver the message to recipients or provide a link to the full message if it exceeds the character limit, ensuring a cohesive and uninterrupted communication experience

  • Both: enter a reply-to address, subject, and message in the appropriate fields

Step Six: Click the "Send" button to send your message.

Fun Fact: Click the "Reset" button to easily create another message.
