Community Messenger administrators can keep the entire school community informed with the latest happenings at your school by sending various types of messages, including recorded phone calls, emails, text messages, text-to-voice phone calls, or combinations of these, to specific contacts or groups with just a few clicks. Choose your message type, craft your message, and select the recipients, and those who have signed up for the Community Messenger will promptly receive your message!

Log into the jmc Community Messenger and head to Messages > Send Messages to get started!

Step One: Click the '+' button to expand the "Message title" row, then enter a searchable title in the "Message title" field to name your message.

Fun Fact: The "Send Messages" page utilizes "+" buttons to conveniently display or hide additional information, saving page space and reducing clutter on the page.

Step Two: Click the "+" button to expand the "Add Recipients" row, and select the appropriate radio button to choose the recipient(s) for your message.

  • All contacts: send messages to all contacts listed in your directory

  • Select contacts: select individual contacts from your directory

  • Select groups: select a group or multiple predefined groups of contacts

Helpful Tip: If you need to modify your recipient list, click the "x" next to your individual contacts or groups to remove them from the message.

Step Three: Click the "+" button to expand the "Message types" row, and select the message type(s) you'd like to send.

Step Four: Click the "Compose message" button and enter information in the fields specific to your selected message type(s):

  • Email: a custom message with a "Reply-to" address, "Cc" or "Bcc" emails, "Subject," message body, and attachments, using the formatting tools provided

  • Text: a text message sent directly to recipients, or as a link if it exceeds 105 characters, ensuring uninterrupted communication

  • Text to voice phone call: a text message sent as a voice automated message to your recipients

  • Recorded phone call: a pre-recorded phone message sent to recipients

Step Five: Click the "+" button to expand the "Timing" row, and select "Send Now" to send immediately or "Send Later" to choose a date and time for your message.

Fun Fact: A checkmark will appear next to each message category once it's complete, giving you a quick visual cue that all the right information has been entered!

Step Six: Click the "Preview" button to view your message in the exact format it will be received.

Step Seven: Click the "Send" button to send your message, the "Edit" link to modify the message content, or the "Cancel" link to start a new message.

Step Eight: Click the "View message progress" button to review your message progress or click "OK" to exit.
