Responsible Trading Policy: Understanding and Avoiding Gambling Behavior

Updated over 3 weeks ago

At OnlyFundsFX, we are committed to fostering a professional and sustainable trading environment where discipline, strategy, and consistency are essential. To uphold this standard, we have implemented a universal Responsible Trading Policy—commonly referred to as our Gambling Policy.

This policy applies to all challenge and live stage accounts, and helps us ensure that trading behavior aligns with long-term success—not luck or reckless risk-taking.

🚫 What Is Considered Gambling in Trading?

In the context of OnlyFundsFX, "gambling behavior" refers to high-risk, impulsive, or undisciplined trading that disregards strategy, risk control, or long-term planning. These behaviors mimic gambling, rather than professional trading, and disrupt the quality of data we rely on to evaluate trader performance and provide funding.

If an account exhibits gambling-like patterns, it may be subject to rule enforcement including disqualification, denied payouts, or permanent restriction from our programs.

🔐 Introducing the 1% Risk Management Rule

To reinforce responsible behavior, OnlyFundsFX enforces the 1% Risk Limit Rule on all traders:

This rule ensures that traders protect their capital, preserve longevity, and demonstrate habits consistent with long-term profitability. Check more info here.

⚠️ Prohibited Gambling-Like Practices

Below are examples of forbidden trading behaviors under this policy:

1. 1% Risk Rule

Placing trades that risk more than 1% of your balance—especially without a stop loss—is considered gambling behavior.

2. One-Sided Bets

Placing multiple large-volume trades in the same direction on the same asset within a short period—without analysis or adjustment—is a common gambling pattern.

  • Traders should diversify positions and avoid directional bias without solid justification.

  • If our systems detect repeated directional trades exceeding the 1% total risk threshold, your account will be reviewed.

3. Hyperactive Trading

Opening too many trades in a short time or reacting impulsively to market fluctuations without any coherent plan or risk control.

  • Example: Opening 20 trades within an hour with no SL and high lot size.

  • This often reflects emotion-driven or revenge trading, not skill-based execution.

🔎 Why This Policy Matters

OnlyFundsFX is building a long-term, sustainable trading ecosystem. To do this, we rely on accurate, responsible trading data to assess risk profiles, issue payouts, and fund consistent performers.

Allowing gambling-like trading:

  • 💥 Puts traders and the firm at unnecessary risk

  • 💡 Prevents our systems from identifying real skill

  • 🚫 Undermines your eligibility for future scaling or live stage funding

This policy protects both your success and the firm’s sustainability.

❗ Consequences of Violating the Policy

Violation

Consequence

The OnlyFundsFX Risk Team monitors accounts closely and reserves the right to enforce actions without warning if trading behavior compromises safety or fairness.
