Questions and Answers

What is the Enhanced Onboarding Pilot?

The Enhanced Onboarding Pilot will offer 1:1 onboarding sessions to select participants, targeting Thrive’s specific features and tools that will best support the participant’s goals and kick-start their journey in Thrive.

After onboarding, the participant will understand what steps to take next in Thrive, and they will be seamlessly transferred back to the service provider to continue building momentum on their employment journey.

The results of the Pilot will inform improvements to ensure participants maximize the benefits they can get from Thrive.

Why is this Pilot being launched?

Currently, only a quarter of participants have used Thrive.

The purpose of the Pilot is to improve participant uptake and engagement in Thrive by implementing enhanced onboarding and guiding them through specific features and a personalized call-to-action that will help them meet their career goals.

Participants can take advantage of Thrive’s many benefits and solutions to help them more effectively and efficiently meet their career goals. Service providers can maintain the momentum with marginal effort and provide more targeted coaching and supports.

Where and when is the pilot?

The Pilot is being launched across the EmployNext Northwest (NW) catchment, starting June 2, 2025 for about three months.

Who is getting the enhanced onboarding?

Participants who have reliable computer access may be included in the enhanced onboarding pilot. To understand the specific impact of the enhanced onboarding, participants will be assigned to the enhanced onboarding group or the comparison group. The comparison group will continue to be offered the group onboarding sessions.

What is the service provider’s role?

The service provider’s role will not change. Job coaches will continue to work with participants as before.

However, one of the expected benefits of the enhanced onboarding is participants will have a clearer understanding of what steps to take next in Thrive to meet their career goals. Job coaches can leverage this personalized call-to-action to continue providing critical supports and help participants maintain momentum on their employment journey.

Job coaches can see the outcome of the onboarding session. The information will be recorded in the job coach’s Thrive Admin Hub under the participant’s activity timeline.

What is Thrive’s role?

Thrive onboarding staff will provide 1:1 onboarding sessions instead of group sessions to selected participants. They will also conduct personalized demos about Thrive’s specific features and tools that will kick-start the participant’s journey in Thrive.

After onboarding, Thrive staff will send a follow up email to the participant with an overview of their personalized call-to-action. They will also update the Activity Timeline with notes from the session and send an email to their Job Coach to “transfer” the participant back to the service provider for ongoing supports.
