Follow these tips for safe storage:
Temperature: Keep it in a cool, dry place (5°C–35°C / 41°F–95°F). Avoid extreme heat or cold, which can harm the battery and components.
⚠️ If the storage temperature is below -20°C /-5°F, allow the device’s internal temperature to stabilize for 10 min before use.
⚠️ It is not advisable to leave the OnTracx sensor in the car in summer, as temperatures can rise above 50 °C.
Moisture: Store away from humidity and water. Bathrooms, kitchens, or damp areas are not ideal.
Sunlight: Avoid direct sun exposure to protect the sensor’s internals.
ℹ️ Not using your sensor for more than a month? Remove the battery to prevent leakage or unnecessary drain.
ℹ️ When the sensor is not in use, do not allow the two metal studs to simultaneously contact an electrically conductive medium. If the studs are connected, for example via a metal surface or a moist fabric, the sensor will remain powered on and this will unnecessarily consume the battery.
When it’s time for a battery replacement, follow the instructions below carefully.
