These features are included with onWater +, and they're designed to work seamlessly when you're off the grid.

1. Saving Maps for Offline Use: Your Ultimate Backcountry Companion

If you're deep in the backcountry and your cell service is spotty at best, our 'Offline Maps' feature is a game changer when you need maps in remote areas with limited connectivity.

To get started, tap on the map tools menu expander:

Next, tap on 'Download Offline Map':

Drag the frame over the area of the map you'd like to download for offline use:

Slide the drawer upward to customize and save your offline map:

You can view your saved Offline Maps by tapping on the "Saved" tab:

2. Setting Proximity Alerts: Get Notified Exactly When You Need It

Proximity Alerts are great for letting you know when you are approaching a desired location such as a take-out or campground.

Here's how to set it up in a snap:

  1. Be sure you have the latest version of onWater downloaded- we're always making improvements!

  2. Search for your desired waterbody.

  3. Select the desired Waypoint or POI (Point of Interest).

  4. Pull up the 'drawer' that appears at the bottom of the screen.

  5. Tap 'Alert'.

  6. Allow for notifications to be sent to your phone. That's your ticket to receiving alerts as you approach your chosen POI.

3. How To Use The Measure Distance Tool

The Measure Distance feature is one of those tools you wish you had years ago. It allows you to select 2 locations to determine the distance in river miles between the two and works outside of cell service. You can learn more about the Measure Distance Tool here: https://intercom.help/onwater/en/articles/8930886-using-the-measure-distance-tool

No more guesswork, no more missed opportunities. With our features, you always know where you stand.
