When you publish a session on Open Sessions, we'll send it through to many different activity finder websites. Here is a breakdown of those sites and some top tips for getting your activities into the big national and regional campaigns.

National Campaigns

This Girl Can

National campaign from Sport England reaching women aged 16-60 years old.

Includes both online and at venue sessions but currently only includes walking, running, cycling, fitness and swimming activities (as these are the most popular with women).

Specific requirements:

  • Sport England also manually review all activities to decide whether they are included.

Join the Movement

National campaign from Sport England to encourage people to be active at home during the coronavirus outbreak. It is a timetable of live online activity classes.

Specific requirements:

  • You should include a link to where people can access your live online class (e.g. a specific Zoom link or a link to your Facebook page if going live).


A website owned and operated by EMD UK. The national governing body for group exercise. They show both online and at venue fitness and group exercise sessions.

Badminton England

Shows online and at venue Badminton sessions across the country.

National Fitness Day

National Fitness Day (by ukactive) encourages the nation to celebrate the fun of fitness and physical activity across the UK. Showcasing free activities at venues and online that take place on National Fitness Day only.

Great British Week of Sport

The Great British Week of Sport runs in partnership with the European Week of Sport, showcasing the benefits of an active lifestyle across the continent. Run by ukactive it focuses on free activities taking place during the campaign week in September.

Regional Campaigns

Get Active

An activity finder from London Sport that aims to help people find a local activity and get started. Shows all activity types but prioritises beginner sessions and those for people who are just getting started or back into exercise.

Most site users are from London, Surrey, and Hampshire.

Just Get Active

Focusing on Warwickshire and the surrounding areas (including Coventry, Bromsgrove, and Solihull), working with regional walking sports organisers to promote sport opportunities for older adults.

Local Campaigns

Greenwich Get Active

A local campaign in the Royal Borough of Greenwich showcasing a huge range of local activities, including accessible team sports, tennis, rowing and more!

One You Slough

Run by the Public Health team in Slough it showcases online and at venue local classes.

Active Newcastle

Promoting free and low-cost activities for people in Newcastle.

Active My Way

An activity finder for Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent from Together Active.

Herts Sports Partnership

Working with partners across Hertfordshire to support local people to be active.

Active Calderdale

Run by Calderdale Council this site profiles local at venue activities
