Open Sessions have teamed up with OpenActive to help activity providers advertise their sessions. This helps increase the reach of your sessions through a simple, quick and free format.

What is OpenActive?

How does open data work?

Publishing your sessions as open data means your session information is published in a standardised format, allowing other activity finders to automatically consume your session data and display it. For example, Get Active uses open data to display a range of sessions.

Why publish your sessions as open data?

  • It is free to use and you can opt-out at anytime

  • Reach a wider audience by making your sessions easier to find

  • You are helping to create a more standardised format of sports and physical activity data

How do I open my data?

  • Create an account or log into your Open Sessions account

  • Create your session and fill in all the required boxes

  • Press publish - all sessions added to Open Sessions are automatically published as OpenActive open data and displayed on Get Active as well as other activity finder platforms

  • Keep your session information up to date with any changes
