How to Work a Task

This article will teach you how to update and complete tasks

When you open a task from a notification or from the Task Inbox. You will see the task Screen.

Entity

Explanation

Description

  • This is what the task creator is asking you to do.

Attachments

  • Right below the description and above the Location is that attachment area.

  • Attachments can be the Question and Response, documents or photos.

    • This screenshot shows the checklist, location, question, and response.

Location

  • This was the location associated with the task and cannot be edited after the fact.

Status

  • Status is set to in progress, the person who created the task can manually change the status but the task recipient cannot.

Priority

  • This is set by the task creator.

  • It cannot be changed by the task recipient.

Due

  • This is due date and time for the task.

  • If this time is passed notifications will be created to alert the task recipients and the task creator that the task is late.

Tags

  • Tags can be added by the task creator to add context and easily categorize tasks.

Require Comment & Require Photo

  • If either of these boxes is checked, the task recipients will need to include a comment or photo in the comments section to close the task.

  • When adding a comment or photo you need to enter the text or add the attachment and then click Add Comment for it to be saved.

Updating the task

  • You can add a photo or comment at any time during a task to update the progress.

  • Those updates, get saved in the activity and notifications are sent to the task creator.

Activity

  • Activity is a history of what actions took place on the task and gets updated every time a task activity takes place.

Must Complete

  • When checked this means that each checked person has to complete the Task before the overarching task can be closed.

Complete

  • Check the Complete box when the task has been completed and then click Save Task in the upper right corner.

    • You have to save the task for it to be completed, just checking Complete is not enough.

  • This will trigger notifications to the Task Creator letting them know that the task was completed.

  • Task Status will be automatically moved to Complete.
