Real World Assets Explained
Real World Assets or RWAs are an asset class rising quickly in the crypto and web3 ecosystem. It refers to assets that are either physical stores of value or have value generated from activities in the real physical world (non-digital).
Examples of Real World Assets are gold, real estate, treasury bonds, paintings, beans, jewellery, but also music. As artists produce songs these songs are played across various streaming platforms or used for other publishing purposes. This generates an earning stream that is considered a Real World Asset.
By tokenizing these earning streams, Opulous is making it possible for fans to interact with music in ways that were never possible before.
Music as Real World Asset
Music is one of the fastest-growing real-world assets, and Opulous is making history as the first company to offer participation in these products through the launch of Opulous 2.0 and Opulous Finance.
Major financial institutions such as Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Chase Bank, and Wells Fargo are increasingly investing in music copyrights, recognising their potential for stable returns in a rapidly expanding industry.
This trend is underlined by a Goldman Sachs report, which forecasts the global music market to grow from $92 billion in 2023 to $151.4 billion by 2030.
Music as RWA at Opulous 2.0
Opulous is leading the charge through pioneering innovative DeFi products, allowing our community to engage in music assets.
Over the past few years, Opulous has achieved remarkable success, raising close to $1m from our MFT sales. A notable highlight is our recent 10 MFT sales, which all sold out in just minutes during early access, underscoring the strong demand for our products.
Music Fungible Tokens (MFTs), allows holders to participate in song rewards. Opulous has a roster of global artists, including Lil Pump, Tyga, Kyle, and more exciting names added every month.
In addition to MFT sales, Opulous 2.0 has introduced RWA DeFi solutions like OVAULT.
All these products enable users to participate in the fastest-growing real-world asset: music.
