What is a bridge?
It's a quick way to convert tokens from one blockchain to another. You simply deposit your tokens using a wallet on one chain and then claim the tokens using another wallet on a different chain. If you want to learn more about what a bridge is, then we recommend reading the following article by our bridging partner, Messina: HERE
What crypto wallets are supported?
To bridge tokens using the Messina Bridge, you can use several of your favorite web3 wallets, depending on the blockchains you are using.
On the Algorand side, you can use Pera Wallet, Deftly, WalletConnect
On Arbitrum, you can use one of the following wallets: MetaMask, Coinbase, WalletConnect, Trust Wallet
These wallets can be downloaded to your mobile and used as a mobile application, or if you prefer desktop, some also feature browser extensions or browser wallet integration.
For more information about each respective wallet, click the links above.
When you have chosen the wallet of your choice, it’s time to bridge your tokens.
Bridging To Arbitrum
The images displayed in this article were produced while bridging from Algorand to Arbitrum and using Pera Wallet and MetaMask as wallet applications, respectively. If you’re trying to bridge OVAULT, follow the How To Bridge OVAULT guide 👉 here. It’s also important to note that due to regulatory requirements, it is not currently possible to bridge US MFTs from Algorand to Arbitrum.
STEP 1: Select Your Source
On Messina.one/nft_bridge, select the Source chain that you are bridging from (Algorand), and click on CONNECT WALLET. Then, connect the wallet of your choice by following the instructions on the screen. Scroll up to see what wallets are supported for each chain type.
STEP 2: Choose Your Destination
On the Destination drop-down menu, select Arbitrum from the list of networks and click on CONNECT Wallet. Then, follow the instructions on the screen to connect the wallet of your choice.
Important: If this is your first time using Arbitrum, make sure the network is added to your respective EVM wallet and that your wallet is switched (SWITCH NETWORK) to the newly added Arbitrum One network. Most wallet applications will automatically prompt you to add a new network when you first try to use it.
STEP 3: Final Preparations
When both wallets are successfully connected, select the ‘NFT TO SEND FROM SOURCE’ button and select the MFTs you want to transfer to Arbitrum.
Depending on the total number and value of your MFTs, you’ll need to input that number into the ‘Input Amount’ field that appears when selecting the MFTs you want to transfer. For example, if you have 150 MFTs, you would add 150 to the bridge before confirming.
STEP 4: Start Bridging
Once confirmed, tick the box for understanding the risks associated, as stated in the Messina Terms of Use, and click on REVIEW TRANSACTION.
Ensure your wallet application for the source chain is open and ready to receive the transaction notifications and sign the transactions as they appear on your application. A transaction ID will be generated accordingly.
Please verify the transaction details carefully on the confirmation pop-up and click on CONFIRM to initiate the bridging process.
Step 5: Complete The Process
After the source chain transactions are completed, click on the CLAIM button to initiate the process of releasing tokens to your wallet on the destination chain. A transaction ID will be generated accordingly.
You just bridged your MFTs successfully to Arbitrum!
Important: Your newly bridged Arbitrum tokens may not appear in your EVM wallet until you manually add or import the token contract (depending on the wallet of choice).
Importing MFTs Into Your Wallet
Once your transaction is complete, you may need to add the token to your wallet. We’ve made this nice and easy for you by adding the contract ID and the token ID’s in the table below
Token References
Contract ID: 0xa4fDf24B2E2288Dd31bdd13047EA2aB4798853F5

Once you’ve found the contract ID and your relevant Token ID, copy the Contract ID on your device, open your EVM wallet of choice, and under the NFT tab select ‘Import NFT’. Paste the contract address, enter the token ID, and select Import.
Congratulations! You’ve officially transferred and imported your MFTs from Algorand to Arbitrum.
Disclaimer
Due to regulatory requirements, it is not possible to transfer US MFTs from Algorand to Arbitrum. US MFTs include Kyle - It’s Not So Bad, Lil Pump - Mona Lisa, and Ard Adz - Patek Myself.
Neither is it currently possible to bridge Artwork NFTs. However, this is something that the team is working on.
