📌 Note: Opus uses Shopify’s billing system, but operates on its own 30-day billing cycle, which may not align exactly with Shopify's invoice cycle. Most app charges will appear on your next Shopify invoice.

I. Upgrade Plan
When you upgrade to a higher plan, Shopify will ask you to approve the new charge. Learn more about how Shopify handles app charges here.
Once approved:
You’ll immediately unlock all features of the new plan.
All your existing data will remain intact.
Your current recurring charge will be canceled and replaced with the new one.
💡 If you upgrade mid-cycle, a prorated charge will apply based on the remaining days in your billing cycle.
Proration Formula:
Total = current_plan_cost + (new_plan_cost - current_plan_cost) × (remaining_days / 30)
Example:
You're on the Advance Plan ($19.99).
On Day 15 of the cycle, you upgrade to the Premium Plan ($39.99).
Calculation:
$19.99 + ($39.99 - $19.99) × (15/30) = $19.99 + $10.00 = $29.99
Your invoice will reflect two charges:
$19.99 for the Advance Plan
$10.00 for the upgrade
If you upgrade on the same day your billing cycle starts, you’ll simply be charged the full price of the new plan (e.g., $39.99 for Premium).
II. Downgrade Plan
When downgrading, Shopify will show a confirmation message. After confirming, you will lose access to features exclusive to the higher-tier plan.
When switching to a lower monthly plan, Shopify will automatically apply a credit for the unused portion of your current plan.
Proration Formula:
Credit = (current_plan_cost - new_plan_cost) × (remaining_days / 30)
Example:
You're on the Premium Plan ($39.99/month) and downgrade to the Advance Plan ($19.99/month) on Day 15.
Calculation:
($39.99 - $19.99) × (15/30) = $10.00
You’ll receive a $10.00 credit, automatically applied to your next app charge.
