Setting Up SSO

What to expect when setting up SSO with Orbital Witness

Updated over 6 months ago

Setting up SSO for your organisation improves security and operational efficiency.

To set up SSO with Orbital the team is here to help. Here’s what you need to be prepared:

1. Orbital primarily implements Single Sign-On (SSO) through a SAML 2.0 integration. If you're using Azure or Entra ID for your SSO setup, we're already well-versed with your configuration. If you're working with a different provider, please reach out, and we'll collaborate with you to ensure a smooth SAML implementation.

2. Permissions: Ensure you have permissions to add non-gallery applications in Azure, you'll need to control and add these apps to your Azure environment.

In order to test SSO, you will need permission to create a security group and add yourself to it.

3. Configuration: For configuration, we need to provide the next two fields:

  • Identifier (Entity ID)

  • Reply URL (Assertion Consumer Service URL)

After the initial setup, you'll need to provide the following:

  • Attributes and Claims

  • Base64 Certificate

  • Login URL

  • Microsoft Entra Identifier URL

4. Testing: In the unfortunate case that the setup does not work on the first revision it would be very helpful to have the following plugin installed or any other type of SAML request capture plugin available.
