To ensure you have the latest details, Orbital Witness provides an easy way to refresh your copy of a title register.
How do you know if your title register is out of date?
Date since title register first "Issued"
Orbital Witness highlights when a title register has been purchased and how much time has elapsed since the purchase.
⚠️ Note: Always pay attention to the "Issued" date to assess how old your title register is and whether it needs to be refreshed.
Orbital Witness amber flags your title register when it is over three months old, urging you to refresh it.
Corporate Owner Entities do not match at Companies house
If the title is owned by corporate entities, their ownership information is publicly available through Orbital Witness. If the ownership details at Companies House change but the information on your title register does not match, this will be amber flagged as well. This indicates that you may want to refresh your title register.
🚨 Note: This ownership flag only applies to corporate entities with publicly available ownership information. If the owners are private individuals, you will need to check the title register issued date and refresh the register if it appears outdated.
For security reasons, we do not surface ownership changes or publicly share ownership information of privately owned properties.
How to refresh title register?
Navigate to the title register you want to refresh within your matter.
Click the "Register" tab.
Click the "Refresh" button.
This will purchase a new copy of your title register and display the latest version within the title panel.
How to Compare the Old Title Register with the Refreshed One
To view the older title register:
Go to the Documents tab.
Search for the title number in your documents library.
Sort the documents in descending order by the "Download Date."
View both the older and the newer copies of the title register to compare the changes.
